Dr Nicholas Kelly was born in Trinidad and brought up in Barbados from the age of 4. He spent his formative school years at Edgeborough and Charterhouse Schools in England and subsequently also his early working life in the City in London. After a whirlwind career in Investment Banking and starting several businesses in the laundry, construction and magazine publishing sectors, he left the UK in 1989 at age of 26 and returned to his adopted homeland Barbados where he started a Fresh Juice Factory, Health food distribution company and Retail Store chain. The 25 stores called “Nature’s Discount” are now spread over 10 different Caribbean islands. During the course of the past 32 years he studied natural medicine at various colleges in the USA first qualifying as a Naturopathic Doctor in 1997.

In 1992 he started a syndicated radio and TV show called “Your Health & You” which still airs weekly on many radio channels throughout the Caribbean.

In 2000 he opened The Natural Medical Centre in Barbados which was the first clinic to combine Traditional Medical, Chiropractic and Naturopathic doctors under one roof.

From 2012 to 2017 he continued his studies at Trinity School of Natural Health in the USA and sat the Board Exams where he passed with a 97% score. He became Barbados’ first Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor, a member of the American Naturopathic Medical Association and gives lectures around the world on the subject of Natural Medicine.

Dr Kelly, a serial entrepreneur, is the Chairman of the Kelly Group in the Caribbean, which owns businesses in many different sectors of the economy including Barbados’ first Online Superstore: Kellmart.com, Nature’s Discount Nutrition Center, a chain of health food stores, PBN Diagnostics Inc which represents Premier Covid-19 Testing companies for the Caribbean and various other businesses in the telecommunications, restaurant, solid waste management and software development sectors.

He is married and has 5 children.
